what is the best supermarket wedding cake?
ByGetting married on a budget,much to my distaste…hehe. anybody tried and tested supermarket wedding cakes. real answers only please as a lot is at stake here

Depends upon your geographic area of the country as supermarkets vary from area to area.
In Texas: Albertson’s or Kroger make awesome cakes.
Southeast according to my sister, it has to be Publix

Nip in to your local Sainsbury’s. They do a simple cost effective range.
They also offer glass hire cheaply. I think it may even be free, just paying for the cleaning and breakages.
5% discount per bottle on each case of wine you buy.
Return unused drink for full refund.
Just be sure to ask to speak to a duty manager, as the staff can seem a little bemused when asked something they are not asked about everyday.

I got my wedding cake from a supermarket and it was great. It was just a rectangle cake decorated for a wedding. The cake itself was marble (chocolate and white) and it was decorated with white and pink frosting (my wedding colours) then they topped it with wedding bells and doves and other decorations to make it look beautiful. It tasted great, probably not much different from an expensive wedding cake. Cake is cake, all your doing is paying for the look if it and the size. And don’t feel so bad about getting married on a budget. Thats what I did because I was only 19 and he was only 21 (were 21 and 23 now) The wedding was great and everyone said that they had a great time. The food was made by my mom and was awesome of course. Dad bought tons of booze, we played our own music and the reception was in my parents basement. All that mattered was that it was the start of our new life together and we can always do it again in the future the way we wanted when we renew our vows. Just keep that in mind. Someday you can go all out and do it again how you wanted. Best of luck to you and your future husband.

Well first you need to ask your local supermarket if they actually do wedding cakes. I can’t say what is the best looking supermarket wedding cake because every store is different. I would suggest Waitrose or Sainsburys for the best cakes, you could also make one yourself for a fraction of the cost

I didn’t do a supermarket cake, but I did wedding cupcakes… cheap and easy for friends to help you out with simple icing decorations. I’ll be glad to send you a picture!! The guests loved it!

I used Publix for my wedding. I had a cake for 140 people, it was multi-tiered with a fountain. It cost me less than $400.
It tasted fab the day of the wedding, and a year later, after we took it out of the freezer, it was still great!

First off, Congratulations,
Asda does really cheap ones,
but if you live in the southwest the best is from Lawsons (web: http://www.lawsonshop.co.uk) that’s who is doing ours. It is £79 for three tiers including stand and knife hire.
Marks and Spencer’s ones are really lovely, and they can do personalised ones too, but they are a little more costly.
Tesco’s do some too.
